Chocolate Pound Cake

It is chocolate through and through with rich chocolate icing!

Ingredients

CAKE

1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter

1/2 cup shortening

3 cups sugar

3 cups cake flour or all purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

5 eggs

1 1/4 cup milk

1 Tbsp vanilla

FUDGE ICING

2 cup sugar

1/4 cups cocoa

1/4 tsp salt

2/3 cup milk

1/2 cup shortening

1 tsp vanilla

Directions

CAKE

Cream butter, sugar, and shortening.

Sift dry ingredients together.

Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, about 1/3 at a time, beating constantly

Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each

Add vanilla

Pour into greased and floured tube pan

Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes at 300 degrees

FUDGE ICING

Mix al ingredients together except vanilla

Boil rapidly for exactly 2 minutes

Remove from heat

Add vanilla

Beat for 5 minutes

Pour over cake

Enjoy!
